Andrew Geddis, Classical Guitar

Andrew Geddis is a classically trained guitarist and composer
carving out his niche among the many artists and musicians who call
New York City home. He attended the prestigious Peabody
Conservatory and has accompanied Grammy nominated basso, Kevin
Maynor in concert and on the critically acclaimed CD, "Paul Robeson
Remembered" on Fleur de Son label. Fanfare Magazine has ranked
Mr. Maynor among "the very greatest bass voices of the 20th century,
including Robeson" and continues, "Andrew Geddis' guitar add(s) life
to 'John Henry' and 'Hammer Song'". He has incorporated himself as
Musica Elysii, or The Music of Elysium and given performances throughout
the tri-state area and in Florida. In the earliest days of Musica Elysii Andrew
began volunteering at many of the nursing homes and retirement communities in
Manhattan working several "little miracles" as he likes to call them; at the very
least brightening the days of the residents and at most affecting dramatic changes
in their conditions. He performs all of his music on an instrument which he has
named, Campanella Rosetta de la Chanterelle made by master luthier, Robert Ruck
based in Eugene, Oregon.
